A very unique program in existence for already 10 years, the Hadas program is geared for observant girls who wish to serve in the IDF in either the Education Corps or Intelligence Corps while spending a year prior studying in Midrasha, immersed in textual study and strengthening spiritually.
It is a program geared for those who want to perform a meaningful and challenging role in serving the country within the framework of the IDF. It is geared to those seeking a sense of fulfillment and a desire to give of oneself to the fullest while being accompanied by a full faculty of teachers throughout one’s IDF service. Every Hadas girl is mentored by the dedicated faculty of Hadas educators who assist the girls throughout every stage of pre army enlistment, placement options, and throughout the service where they visit the girls regularly and maintain an open line of communication with the IDF commanders.
The role of the NCO teacher is one of the most challenging in the Israeli army. As an educational NCO, one will be responsible for teaching soldiers and preparing them for service. The role is a combination of elements ranging from teaching skills to leadership; the Hadas soldier serves as a figurehead and role model for the soldiers under their command.
NCO teachers work with soldiers from populations-at-risk who require help with language acquisition (in the case of new immigrants) or with completing basic high school matriculation exams. At the same time, the educational NCO is responsible for assisting her soldiers in their acclimation to army life and for instilling in them the fundamental values which motivate the Israeli army. Through one’s instruction and personal example, the Hadas NCO teacher will be helping to forge the character of new recruits and contribute to the fiber of the IDF.
The Intelligence Community
The Intelligence Corps, and the General Secret Services (Shabak)
The Intelligence Corps is the force that stands behind the army’s ability to attain an accurate reading of the country’s situation, upon which all security decisions are based. The success of the corps lies in the high quality of its human resources; therefore, the Intelligence Corps seeks out the most capable candidates to integrate into its ranks.
In the General Secret Services, one will be a partner to challenges in the intelligence world which cannot be publicly discussed. The GSS forces are the behind-the-scenes people. Their thrilling and demanding work saves lives each and every day.
Within the framework of these positions, one will be required to use all of one’s talents and resources. One will need to exercise one’s analytic abilities, apply academic knowledge and utilize one’s imagination in order to make clear decisions in an atmosphere of uncertainty. One will be required to comprehend on a profound level the procedures and developments which affect the country’s present existence and predict its future.
The Hadas program is highly respected by the IDF and as such each girl is viewed by the IDF as a tremendous asset to the army. The Hadas faculty visit the girls often to both study with them and ensure that they are happy in their respective positions.
NBN is teaming up with Hadas to provide grants and support for these unique women who serve in the IDF.
