Beit Alisiyah  המצור  1 , ירושלים      02 - 563-0733 A public nursing home for the handicapped ( סיעודי), its applicants are placed there through the Misrad HaRevacha. Each room houses two patients, who are provided with 5 meals a day. The amount of spoken English is not very high, as the population is mainly Russian. Beit Avot Beit Beyer Rechov Yam Suf 33, Sanhedria Murchevet, 97701 02 - 532-2563 A public home for the independent, semi-independent, and handicapped seniors, Beit Beyer is supported by both the Misrad HaBriyut and Misrad HaRevacha. The handicapped residents are coupled in rooms, and are required to pay a monthly fee that can range anywhere between 6,000- 10,000 shekels, depending on their medical situation. This fee covers teh residents' meals 3 times a day, laundry, medical care, 24 hour surveilance, and activities. There are not many English-speakers, as the main languages are Russian, Yiddish, Arabic, and Hebrew. Beit Avot Maon Harofeh, Motzei Illit Dorna Harei Yehudah 90820 02 - 534-7111 A private home for the semi-independent and elderly, they offer their residents apartments that have a range of 1 - 3 bedrooms. Residents are required to pay a down payment and a monthly fee which covers maintenance, food, and medicine. Their population is mostly Hebrew speaking, but they occasionally have an activity hosted in English. The management speaks English, and can assist Olim who come there. The home is Mesorti, and keeps shabbat and kosher.  
Beit Cham for the Elderly  ראובן  9 , ירושלים      1-800-392-392 A public old age home sponsored by Bituach L'umi that does not have a strong background in relating to the Anglo community.  
Beit Gonen Yehoshua ben Gamla 7 02-640-4222 A public home for those in need of assisted living accomodations, their apartments boast a small kitchenette and 1-2 bedrooms. The monthly fee includes 3 meals a day, services, security, and medicine.They have a smaller population of English speakers, but for more information feel free to contact Danny Shemesh the Home's director.  
Beit Ha'ela Tzomet Ha'ela, D.N. Haela 99830 02 - 991-7655               A private home for infirm, dementia & altzheimers patients. They group three residents per room, and provide all their needs for a monthly fee of 9,500 shekel. 5 meals are served a day, and arund 2/3ds of the population are English-speaking. French, Spanish, Russian and Yiddish are also spoken there. The staff manages well with English-speakers. They have kosher ( a teudah from the Rabbanut) catering, and they keep shabbat. Beit Horim, Beit Moses 52 Derech Beit Lechem, Jerusalem 93504 02-673-2570 A center for both the independent and handicapped (with a separate chronic care center), the residents are required to pay both an entrance fee and a monthly fee which includes housing, medical help, activities, etc.. Any Kupat Cholim the applicant carries is accepted there. They do not have an exceedingly high percentage of Anglos, however for further details, you can contact Estee Goldberg or Miri Sheetrit, both English-speaking social workers. The home does not have a Mashgiach Kashrut.  
Beit Horim, Rehavia  Abarbenel 24 02-561-0011 They are a private organization who cater to an elderly ( קשיש) population. Their rooms, which are equipped with a shower and mirpeset, run from anywhere between 7,000- 11,000 Nis. yearly. This price not only includes board, but serious medical care with 24. hour medical access and 5 meals a day. It is a Dati home where Shabbat and Kosher are kept, but non-religious people are welcomed too. Approximately 20% of the residents are Anglos, but all their activities are in Hebrew.  Beit Reuvein- Hospital for Neurological Care  ראובן  12 , ירושלים    02 - 673-1213 This private hospital accepts elderly patients through the Misrad Ha'Briyut. The average price is around 9,300 NIS., and they provide their patients with medical care and food, however, the cost of ambulances is not included. Kashrut and Shabbat is kept, but the majority of the patients are not religious. The percentage of Anglos at the hospital is around 2%, with the main language being Russian. Beit Sababa Kibbutz Ramat Rachel                 D.N. Tsfon Yehudah 90900 02 - 670-2999 A private home for the handicapped ( סיעודי),  Beit Sababa provides rooms, containing 1-2 people each, 3 meals a day, activities for the elderly for around 14,000- 17,000 Nis. a month. Medicine and transportation in an ambulance is not included. The majority of residents use Klalit as their Kupat Cholim when they enter the home. Approximately 15% of the residents are Anglos, and a large amount of residents also speak Yiddish and Russian. Beit Tovei Ha'Ir  מלכי ישראל  36 , ירושלים      02 - 531-8491 A public home for independent and handicapped seniors, they also house a physiotherapy institue. The apartments for the independent contain either 1 1/2  or 2 bedrooms, and have their own small kitchenettes. The monthly fee covers the security, activities, maintenence, 24 hour medical surveilance, and three meals a day. Applicants are accepted after they are interviewed by a member of the staff. The home keeps Shabbat and Kosher, but they house a variety of religious/ non-religious residents. Around 50% of the residents are Anglos, and they have a lot of activities in English and for English-speakers, for example Ulpan. Eidan HaZahav yosi ben yoezer 28 02-648-1939 A public home, sponsored through the Briyut and Revacha Misradim, for the elderly and senile. The monthly fee covers services, medicine (whatever the Misradim provide in their 'basket'), and activities. There arent very many English speakers, but it is spoken amongst the other languages ( Russian and Yiddish). The home keeps shabbat and kashrut, and they hold a teudah from the Rabbanut.  
Elah Residence הדישון  21 , ירושלים  02 - 678-1925 A private assisted-living home that provides its residents with apartments that have their own kitchenettes, and offer the possibility of live-in help. The monthly fee covers the cost of the housing, and maintenance. Food is not provided. The religious level varies, and there are next to no English-speakers residing there.  
Ganei Oorah  Ahlihav 29 02-537-0007 A public home for the handicapped and elderly. Residents are coupled in rooms, and are accepted through the Misrad HaBriyut. The monthly fee covers activities, 3 daily meals and snacks and care, but medicine and ambulance rides must be paid for seperately by the resident. English is not the dominant language at the home, however the home is religious and keeps Kosher.  
Golden Hill Rechov Haganah  11, French Hill 02-589-1891 A private home for the independent, Goldin Hill offers apartments with a range of 1- 5 rooms and kitchenettes. The down payment and monthly fees cover lunches ( 10 offered per month), nursing and medical surveilance 24 hours a day, and a range of activities in Hebrew and English. The home is not Dati, but welcomes religious people. It is under the hashgacha of the Rababnut and hosts a Shabbat elevator. 70% of their current 80 residents are English speaking.  
Hod Yerushalayim  3 Guatemala, P.O.B 9199, Jerusalem, 96704 02 - 643-7527 A private home for the independent and elderly, with a chronic care-unit on site. They offer apartments with small kitchenettes and a range of 1-4 bedrooms for rent/ purchase. The host a mixd population, and for more information please contact Orit the Eim HaBayit.  
Kiryat Menachem Old Age home דהומיי  16 , ירושלים  02 - 643-3411  A public old age home, through Misrad HaRevacha, that provides shelter for independent ( עצמאי), handicapped( סיעודי), and elderly ( קשיש),  and also have a day-center. The apartments for the independent usually have one room, while the rooms for the handicapped and elderly house 2-4 people. They require a initial payment along with monthy fees, which cover the food, laundry, Medical services (including medicine), and activities. The home keeps Kosher, but the majority of its residents are Mesorti-Dati. It does not cater to English-speakers, while the main spoken languages there are Hebrew and Spanish. Melabev, Community Clubs for Eldercare POB 3235, Jerusalem 91031 02 - 666-6198 They have memory clubs/ day care centers for memory impaired/ cognitively impaired( altzheimers) adults. Me'onot Maccabi Migdal HaZahav, 35 Sderot Ben Zvi Blvd., Jerusalem 96260 02 - 625-3253 Me'onot Maccabi offers medical supervision, maintenance and general security to its residents. There are a variety of cultural and group activities for residents to participate in, and they have a wide range of high quality service. For more information please call the director, Dan Off.  
Neve Amit 10 Paran Street Ramat Eskol Jerusalem, 91181 02 - 589-1122 A public home for the independent, assisted living, and handicapped seniors. The apartments host a small kitchenette, and anywhere from 1 1/2 - 3 bedrooms, while the rooms house 2 residents per room. The home, sponsored by Meuchedet, requires an enterance fee and a monthly fee which includes medicine, 3 meals a day (plus snacks), board, security, and activities. Since the home is located in Ramat Eshkol, there are many stores close by, and it makes shopping for the residents very easy and simple. The home keeps shabbat and Kosher, as they have a Hashgacha from the Rabbanut, and welcomes religious people. Around 30% of the residents are English-speaking, and they are provided with a slew of activities in both Hebrew and English. Neve Hadar Sderot Golda Meir, Ramot        (across Har Hotzvim) PO Box 45047, Jerusalem 91450 02 - 572-4444 A private home for the independent and semi-independent, they offer apartments with kitchenettes and 2 rooms ( a bedroom and a living/dining area). Their monthly fee includes security, Doctors and Nurses on hand, activities, social workers, and maintenence. They offer lunches, but in general the residents provide their own food. 30 - 40% of their population are English-speakers, and they offer a variety of activities in both Hebrew and English. Neve Shalom Derech Beit Lechem 65, Jerusalem 02 - 671-9891 Located in Baka, this private home for independent and handicapped seniors has a warm, home-y touch. With fresh meals 3 times a day, Neve Shalom offers 24 hour medical surveilance, physiotherapy ( specializing in geriatrics), and a slew of activities and events for the residents to take part in. The rooms house 2 residents, and have their own bathrooms and showers. The house is not religious and does not have a mashgiach, but does keep kosher. There are plenty of Shuls in the eare for the religious to attend on shabbat. While the majority of residents are European ( and the popular language is Yiddish, and not English), the staff and management speak English. Nofei Katamon Tel-Hai 12 02-563-8211 A private home for the handicapped and elderly, Nofei Katamon's residents are coupled in rooms. The monthly fee includes all servies, meals 5 times a day, and activities. The majority of the residents speak Hebrew, but for more information feel free to contact Avi Levenberg at 050-383-6966.  
Nofei Yerushalayim Rechov Shachrai, 25 Bayit V'Gan   A home for both the independent and elderly, Nofei Yerushalayim offers many activities, and boasts on their location a shul and pool. It is geared towards both religious and non-religious senior citizens. For more information please contact Penina, the director.  
Nofie Gilo 5 Harav Unterman, Gilo, Jerusalem 052 - 677-5333 A home for both independent and semi-independent seniors, Nofei Giloprovides apartments with 2 rooms, and staff whose goal is to help the residents maintain their independent/ semi-independent lifestyle. For a monthly fee, Nofei Gilo provides maintenance and activities. Reception, security and nursing are available 24 horus a day. Peninat Shloshet Ha'Avot P.O. Box 52160 02-672-4590 A private home for the handicapped (סיעודי) and mentally unstable. With two residents per room, the home provides 3 meals ( plus snacks)a day, medicine, and general medical surveillance.  
Pension Carmi Derech Chevron 60, Jerusalem 02 - 672-2039 A private nursing home geared towards the independent and semi-independent resident. For more information please contact the Director, Mr. Noam Nissim.  
San Simon- Neve Horim Nursing Home Rechov Ma'ale Ze'ev 3, Jerusalem 91008, Pinat Shai Agnon 02-640-3333 A public home, sponsored by the Briyut and Revacha Misradim, for the independent, frail, and mentally frail. Their apartments have kitchenettes and 2 rooms. Frail residents are usually paired in rooms. Applicants are required to pay an enterance fee, and residents pay a monthly fee that includes maintenece, medicine, food, and activities. As a Dati home, they keep kosher and Shabbat ( there is no TV or phone on shabbat). There are a reasonable amount of English speakers amongst the Spanish and Russian-speakers. Shiva Tova- Yerushalayim אהרון פישל  1 , ירושלים 02 - 582-2447  As a semi-private home, partially funded by the Misrad HaBriyut and Misrad HaRevacha, 90% of their residents are independent, but they do house two nursing facilities. The religious population ranges from Dati-Leumi to Chareidi. The Anglo population is very small, while the main spoken languages are Russian, Persian, and Hebrew. The Resident Dr. is a chareidi English-speaker, and most of the staff can speak English. For more information please contact Michael Shore, an English-speaking lisensed social worker.  
Shomrei HaChomot Old Age Center מעגלי הרי"ם לוין  25 , ירושלים 02 - 589-0333 A semi-private home for independent, handicapped, and elderly. Residents are coupled 2 to a room, and are required to pay a monthly fee that covers board, 5 meals a day, maintenance, 24 hour surveilance, activities, but not medicine. The home is geared for Chareidi residents, and has a large amount of Yiddish speakers. For more information please contact Goldi Hirschman.  
St. Louis  שבטי ישראל  2 , ירושלים 02 - 626-4724 A French Hospital who accepts handicapped residents only after they were treated as patients at the hospital. Because it is a public hospital, those who stay on after being patients must go through the Misrad HaBriyut. There are a couple of Anglo residents, the entire staff speaks English, and all the documents are written in English. For more information please contact Monica Dulman: 054-814-4494.  
The Frankforter Center for the Aged 80 Beit Lechem Rd. Jerusalem 02 - 6714848           02 - 6718865         A day center for seniors that offers many activities, amongst them some that are held in English. They offer handicrafts, language classes, exercise sessions, music, lectures, day trips, and Ulpan in Hebrew. They have a reasonable population of English-speakers. The Zigfried Mozes Old Age Home 50-52 Derech Beit Lechem, Jerusalem 02 - 673-2570 A public home for the handicapped and those who need assisted living conditions, their apartments have 1-2 rooms and small kitchenettes. 1 -3 residents share rooms in the handicapped quarter. There is a large quantity of English speakers, however the main spoken languages are German and Hebrew. For more information please contact Tzofit Cham, or Estee the soical worker.  
Tifferet Banim Rechov HaChalutz 29, Beit HaKerem 02 - 652-5866 As a public home funded by the Misrad HaRevacha, they cater to both independent and dependent seniors. The apartments for the independent contain one bedroom, a small kitchenette, and the option to have live-in help. The monthly fee covers medical help, three meals a day, laundry, activities, etc.. Medicine is purchased seperately by the resident. Instead of going through a public Kupat Cholim, residents are privy to the in-house medical clinic.The home is Kosher, Mehadrin under the hashgachat of Yerushalayim and is run by the Poel HaMizrachi. Yad L'Meir Ha'Nasi 14 02-566-4156 A private home for independent and semi-independent seniors, Yad L'Meir offers apartments with 2 bedrooms, a shower, mirpeset, and small kitchen. The monthly fee covers the 24 hour surveilance they are offered, and a reduced rate for the meals ( only 39 shekel). As kosher home, they have a Shabbat elevator but they are not dati. 70% of its residents are English-speaking, but the activities take place in Hebrew. Other languages that are spoken there are Yiddish, Russian, German, and Hebrew.  
Yerushalayim Shel Zahav Korei HaDorot 26A, Jerusalem 93387 02 - 6714932           02 - 6739222 A private home for independent seniors, Yerushalayim Shel Zahav provides apartments with a range of 1 - 2 bedrooms, and small kitchens. The monthly fee includes medicine, 24 hour surveilance, 3 meals a day, snacks, board, activities, laundry, and more. They are shomer shabbat and kashrut, but the residents do not have to be dati to be accepted. Located in the talpiot area, near Kibbutz Ramat Rachel, the home's primary language is french, with only a few English-speaking residents. The staff can communicate in English, and they do not have a problem with accomodating English-speakers.
