Five Years later, Tuvia Grossman makes Aliyah!

Victim of terror and NY Times faux pas decides to become an Israeli citizen

Tuvia Grossman, a Chicago native who was wounded by Palestinians in September 2000, arrived this morning in Israel on a Nefesh B'Nefesh flight to become an Oleh Chadash. Tuvia was misidentified as a Palestinian in a famous picture published by the NY Times which they reported showed an Israeli policeman beating a Palestinian youth. Tuvia's father wrote a letter to the Times informing them that the youth was his son and the policeman was saving him from further harm. The furor caused by the Times caption finally led to a reprint of the picture with the proper caption and an article detailing the correct story.

Welcome Home Tuvia!!
