(IsraelNN.com) More than 2,000 North
American Jews are moving to Israel this summer through Nefesh
B’Nefesh in close cooperation with the Jewish Agency for
Israel.
On Wednesday, a chartered El Al flight with
more than 200 olim (immigrants) from the U.S. & Canada
will arrive, marking another milestone in the recent dramatic
increase of North American Jews coming on ‘aliyah’.
The
new arrivals will be accompanied in-flight by former Chief
Rabbi Ysirael Meir Lau, Conference of Presidents of Major
American Jewish Organizations Vice-Chairman Malcolm Hoenlein
and other officials.
Of the 4,000 newcomers who came
to Israel via Nefesh B’Nefesh since 2002, 99% have remained.
Of this summer’s arrivals, olim come from 31 US States and 6
Canadian provinces.
