Nefesh B'Nefesh launches first
International Jewish Bloggers Convention
Over 200 Jewish bloggers to participate in Jewish Blogger’s Conference entitled: “The Power of the JBlogosphere: Taking JBlogging to the Next Level”
*Conference to be broadcast live on the web*
(JERUSALEM) – Nefesh B'Nefesh, an organization dedicated to revitalizing Aliyah from the US, Canada and the UK, is hosting the first International Jewish Bloggers Convention on Wednesday, August 20, 2008 in order to help raise the profile of Aliyah in the blogging world. The JBlogosphere convention will also be broadcast live on the web to hundreds of Jewish bloggers worldwide.
The convention will include networking sessions; a panel discussion on increasing reach, readership and influence with guest blogger panelists; a presentation from the Foreign Ministry’s Director of Brand Management Zavi Apfelbaum on ‘Branding Israel’; and a comedy performance by famous blogger FrumSatire.
Prior to the event, Nefesh B’Nefesh will be hosting several high profile bloggers on one of its flagship charter Aliyah flights from JFK to Israel on August 18, so that they can experience the excitement and emotion of making Aliyah as part of a group first hand. The bloggers will then join the convention at Nefesh B’Nefesh’s Jerusalem office, as panel experts and participants.
“Jewish bloggers are a crucial and influential element of the wider public discourse,” noted Danny Oberman, Nefesh B’Nefesh’s Executive VP of Israel Operations. “We feel it is vital to place Aliyah on their radar and this initiative will help expose them to the progress and expansion of successful western Aliyah.”
