1. Labeling:
Label everything in the house with its Hebrew name. You can make a game out of this by preparing the labels and letting each child label as many objects as he/she can.
Look up any words you don't know in a dictionary.
2. Word of the day:
Choose a commonly used word, in Hebrew, and everybody in the house has to use it as much as possible during the day. Anybody who uses the word in a sentence gets a star by his name on a chart. At the end of the day, the one with the most stars gets a prize – or gets to choose next days word.
3. Learn a song:
Find a song in Hebrew and learn the words to it. Make sure you understand the song!!

- For parents of younger children: there is a book /cd / video / DVD called: מאה שירים ראשונים. Many of these are songs the children will learn in gan.
5. Interesting websites: www.sod.cet.il – letter recognition, rhyming, and more. www.nivon.net/nivon: Hebrew-Hebrew dictionary of idioms, sayings and proverbs. http://lms.cet.ac.il/units/science/index.aspx: science website in Hebrew for children. (All in Hebrew) www.bazz.co.il – search engine for children, similar to yahooligans. History, science, encyclopedias, maps, sports, hobbies, etc. www.galim.org.il – homework help, books, etc. www.dafdaf.co.il – books, authors, poets and more for children. There is an explanation of the site in English, but the site itself is in Hebrew.
