Misrad Hapnim guidelines dictate that you CANNOT be processed through this program if you have:

• Converted to Judaism in Israel
• An Israeli passport or were born abroad to an Israeli parent
• A birth certificate from the former Soviet Union
• Renounced Israeli citizenship at any point in the past
• Converted to Judaism abroad and not resided there for one full year since your conversion
• Previously opened an Aliyah file at another branch of Misrad Hapnim

In order to receive Nefesh B'Nefesh assistance, please download and submit a regular Nefesh B'Nefesh application. Please contact your local branch of Misrad Hapnim to schedule an appointment to begin the Aliyah process. In the event that you defer your Aliyah and do not complete your Aliyah processing through this program, you will be responsible for completing the process on your own, and you will need to re-submit a REGULAR Nefesh B'Nefesh application in order to qualify for assistance

Please make sure to have all of your original documents IN YOUR POSSESSION by the time you submit your application. Misrad Hapnim requires that you present all original documents for review during your interview. Applicants who do not have original documents with them will not be processed. Photocopies and faxes are not a valid substitute.

Please DO NOT submit original documents with your application to Nefesh B'Nefesh.

Misrad Hapnim will ask to see originals of the following:

• Birth Certificate
• Civil Marriage/Divorce/Death Certificate of spouse
• Proof of Judaism letter
• Valid US, Canadian, or UK Passport (must be valid for at least six months following your Aliyah)
• If you are divorced with minor children, you must provide a notarized letter of consent from your former spouse authorizing you to make Aliyah with your children.
• If you have minor children and are making split Aliyah (where one spouse makes Aliyah and one does not), you must provide a notarized letter of consent from the parent not making Aliyah, authorizing their spouse to make Aliyah with their children.
• If you previously resided in Israel as a temporary resident (A/1 visa) and your marital status has changed since the last time you resided in Israel, please provide all documents pertaining to such changes with apostille certification.
• If you completed Machal service, please provide a copy of your Teudat Shichrur.

If you have a newborn child born in Israel (who was not registered as an Israeli citizen at the time of their birth), please issue a foreign passport for them (from your country of origin) BEFORE submitting your application.

NOTE: If your spouse is an Israeli citizen and you were married abroad, you will need apostille certification on your marriage certificate in order for Misrad Hapnim to process your file. This certification, like all other original documents, must be in your possession at the time you submit your application.

Please do not submit an application if you plan to travel abroad before your file is approved. You may submit your application after you return, as long as it is submitted by the final deadline.

Aliyah benefits are not automatically granted to you by the government. All benefits are time-restricted based on the amount of time you have resided in Israel.
