As part of the Israeli medical licensing process, Misrad HaBriut (the Ministry of Health) requires that certain documentation be translated into Hebrew and notarized. For details about which documents require notarization, please see Medical Licensing. There is a fixed rate for notarization, set by Misrad Hamishpatim:
Signature Authorization (like an American Notary Stamp) -
140 NIS
Translation
First 100 words - 176 NIS
Next 900 words - 140 NIS per unit of 100 words
1000 + words - 68 NIS a word
(all of these are before MAM)
The following notaries provide both translation and notarization services and offer discounts (on the translation service, not the notarization service) to Nefesh B'Nefesh olim.
Note: Nefesh B'Nefesh does not endorse these services. You are entitled to use any Israeli notary. We encourage you to "shop around" to find the cheapest deal.
In addition, if your Hebrew is sufficient, you may translate documents yourself and utilize a notary just for the notarization service, which saves you money.

Note: If you fax or email copies of your documentation to the notary before you make liyah, your documents can be translated before you arrive. You can notarize the translations as soon as you make Aliyah, when you meet with the notary and show him the original copies of your documents.
