Loans and Consultation Services for Entrepreneurs

The following loans and consultation services are available for Olim who are opening new businesses in Israel.

Aviv Foundation
The Aviv Foundation assists entrepreneurs, by providing loans and consultation services for Olim who are interested in starting new businesses. For details see http://www.aviv-ebc.co.il/services.asp?id=5 or email yaniv@aviv-ebc.co.il.

The Aviv Foundation includes several different projects including Keren Shemesh (http://www.aviv-ebc.co.il/services.asp?id=50), which provides services for young entrepreneurs (between the ages of 20 and 30) and Keren Koret (http://www.aviv-ebc.co.il/services.asp?id=5), which offers services to individuals of all ages.

Note: A fee is charged for these services.

Safra Foundation
The Safra family has a foundation which helps young entrepreneurs.   These are the pre-requisites:

  • The entrepreneur has to be between the ages of 20 and 30.
  • It has to be his/her first business venture.
  • The venture has to be legal.

Contact Yaaki Bachar or Iris, who work out of the Bnei Brak and Ramat Gan MATI offices: bbrak@mati.org.il  or (03)673-9673 to arrange for an initial consultation which costs 50 NIS. Once approved, the following services are available at a 75% subsidy:

  • Up to a 50,000 NIS loan which can be repaid in up to 36 payments.
  • Help with a business plan.
  • A 20 hour course on business development.
  • Ongoing guidance from a business advisor.
  • Meetings with lawyers and accountants.

Technological Incubators

There are many technological incubators throughout Israel which provide seed money for scientists and engineers interested in developing products in the hi-tech, biotech or environmental spheres. For a listing of technological incubators, see: http://www.science.co.il/Technology-Incubators.asp.

If your focus is the environmental sector, seed money and support services are available through the GreenTech division of the Mofet B'Yehuda Technological and Business Incubator. The organization has a program, Hamra'ah, designated specifically for Olim who are scientists and engineers. Hamra'ah offers Olim the financial investment and R&D facilities for a two-year period to develop a prototype for their new technology and to actualize their research into a successful start-up company. The incubator fosters development of environmental startups by facilitating and supporting entrepreneurs from conception to fruition on the world market.
