Rev up your engines!

This past October, Formula Jerusalem was hosted in one of Israel’s holiest cities for the second time. Built through the heart of Jerusalem, the race circuit shut down some of Jerusalem’s main roads. Car lovers from all over the country flocked to the capital to get their fix of powerful engines and first-class drivers.

Not only did the event feature several well-known Israeli drivers, including Roy Nissani, Yarin Stern, and Alon Day, as well as Israeli stunt riders like Rafal Pasierbek and Terry Grant, but it also made history. Formula Jerusalem was the only Formula 1 event to feature both the Ferrari F1 and the Red Bull F1.

The perfect activity for the Sukkot holiday, the event was filled with people of all ages, waving flags and holding signs.

“It was incredible to see all of the different people there–religious, non-religious, Jewish, Arab, young and old, and to know that the event was unifying all aspects of our very diverse city,” said Laurie Tamres, a 50-year-old Olah. “The cars and motorcycles were fantastic, but the people made it spectacular!”

Along with the two-day race, Jerusalem Formula included an 11-day exhibition of sports cars and collectibles. For those days, Jerusalem’s First Station also featured a range of activities for the whole family, including motor competitions, interactive remote controls, and driving simulators.

The event boosted tourism, the economy, and Jerusalem’s world image, showing everyone that Jerusalem is a city of welcoming, culture-loving people.
