EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2019:

The Israeli Ministry of Interior has recently amended the regulations for document certification for those seeking to make Aliyah and immigrate to Israel requiring Apostilles on ALL foreign documents, including marital status certificates from the USA and UK.

This change will go into effect on January 1, 2019.

Beginning January 1, 2019 ALL marital status certificates will require Apostilles.

Canada is not part of the Apostille treaty and therefore Canadian documents (including MARITAL STATUS CERTIFICATES) must be certified by a chain of signatures at the Israeli consulate in Canada.
