Helping You Settle In - NBN Social Services Department

For most Olim, Post-Aliyah challenges center on one area: integration. Integration into new Israeli communities, integration into the Israeli work culture, integration for children into the Israeli school system -- in short, integration into the fabric of Israeli society.

Buddy Program
Nefesh B'Nefesh will pair you up with an individual or family who has successfully gone through the Aliyah process. These "buddies" will be there for you as you begin your own Aliyah process, helping you with everything from meals upon your arrival to helping you find the best dry cleaning in town.

Note: If you are an Oleh who has been in Israel for at least one year and you would like to help out, please fill out our Buddy Application.

Tiyulim and Social Events
These periodic events enable our Olim to both see the country and connect with each other. In addition, we have a full slate of events specifically geared to our Single Olim and their special integration needs. Please see our Calendar of Events for more info.

Support for Parents Left Behind
One major area of struggle for many Olim is in their relationship with their parents.  NBN Social Services Department staff members are available to support parents through this process.  In addition, we recommend that parents connect with PNAI – the Parents of North American Olim Support Group  (http://www.pnai.org/).
