If you are unemployed 12 months after your Aliyah, or are earning below minimum wage, you may be entitled to Havtachat Hachnasa (income support) from Bituach Leumi. The amount granted ranges from 1,000 to 3,000 NIS, depending on your age and family size, which is distributed as a monthly stipend.

In order to be eligible for this benefit, you may not be a student in any post-high school educational framework, you must not own a car, be a soldier on active duty, or a member of a kibbutz. However, if you are studying in an Ulpan program subsidized by Misrad Haklita, you are eligible for this benefit.
