Loans for Entrepreneurs

The following loans are available for Olim who are opening new businesses in Israel.

KIEDF Business Loans

The Koret Foundation Small Business Development Program helps thousands of Israeli small businesses to create and sustain tens of thousands of jobs while strengthening the environment for economic growth in the private sector.

KIEDF’s focus on the small business sector has successfully channeled more than $180 million in private philanthropy to job creation, bringing self-sufficiency and dignity to thousands of Israeli business owners and their employees For more information, look at http://www.koretfoundation.org/grants/program_kiedf.html

Key programs include:

  • KIEDF Small Business Loan Fund, the original KIEDF program, works in partnership with bank Otzar Hachayal and Discount Bank to leverage loan guarantees and provide interest subsidies to small businesses lacking access to credit on reasonable terms.
  • KIEDF Microenterprise Initiative, which provides loan guarantees to economically disadvantaged populations seeking to establish home-based and other small businesses. KIEDF’s Microenterprise Initiative partners with Economic Empowerment for Women and Bank Hapoalim to identify program candidates and help them to qualify for loans of up to $5,000.
  • Koret Fellows Program, which provides annual fellowships to exemplary postgraduates to serve as economic policy analysts for select members of the Knesset and other government agencies, helps to develop legislative and regulatory policies to address issues that impede small business development, employment expansion, and private-sector, economic growth in Israel.

Safra Foundation
The Safra family has a foundation which helps young entrepreneurs.   These are the pre-requisites:

  • The entrepreneur has to be between the ages of 20 and 30.
  • It has to be his/her first business venture.
  • The venture has to be legal.

  • Up to a 50,000 NIS loan which can be repaid in up to 36 payments.
  • Help with a business plan.
  • A 20 hour course on business development.
  • Ongoing guidance from a business advisor.
  • Meetings with lawyers and accountants.

 Partnership2Gether

The Jewish Agency for Israel provides loans for small businesses of up to 300,000 NIS. Over 1,000 applicants have received these loans which are designed to encourage the growth of businesses in the Negev, Galilee and Jerusalem. The Jewish Agency operates seven loans funds around Israel, providing business owners with the necessary capital for setting up a business or expanding an existing venture.
