Tuval


Tuval is situated on a beautiful mountaintop in the Western Galilee, and boasts breathtaking views - from Rosh Hanikra in the north to Haifa in the south. Tuval was established as a Kibbutz in 1981 by ideological groups of young people from South Africa, Britain and Israel. In 1995, Tuval initiated a community village development, which grew alongside the Kibbutz. As a member of the Misgav Regional Council, Tuval benefits from a high level of municipal services. Tuval is a pluralistic community and endeavors to live in harmony with its natural surroundings and neighbors. Tuval has a very vibrant cultural committee and the community organizes and participates in many communal activities, including the celebration of Jewish festivals.

Local Employment
Members of Tuval work in a wide variety of professions both in the village and in the surrounding cities. Some people in the community run independent businesses including a graphics studio, a glass/mosaic workshop, a veterinary clinic, a carpentry shop and more. In addition, the Kibbutz runs a large dairy, grows kiwi and has a vineyard. The Kibbutz also runs a seminar center which provides meeting rooms for conferences, learning programs, etc.


Education / Youth
Tuval has a state-of-the-art daycare center for babies and toddlers, staffed by experienced and trained caregivers and under supervision of the center for preschool education at Haifa University. the community also has a kindergarten for preschool children, who enjoy daily walks and learn about nature first-hand. Both the daycare center and the kindergarten are open during school vacations, allowing parents worry-free time at work while the children play.
The Misgav educational system has been recognized as one of the best in Israel, and for elementary education, there are a number of options. The Gilon school is the regional option, but there are also children who study at Galil (an Arab-Jewish school), Tefen (an open school), Ma’ale Tzviya and the Oded school (anthroposophical Waldorf school). The regional council is responsible for transportation of the children to and from the villages where they attend school.

The community supports a variety of youth activities organized by a youth coordinator and run by trained youth leaders, who create and run regular activities once a week.


Transportation
Tuval is situated just 15 minutes from Karmiel and Tefen, 20 minutes from Maalot, 25 minutes from the Misgav center and 50 minutes from Haifa. It is 30 minutes by car to the train station in Acre, which offers train service to Haifa and other parts of the country.

Olim services are offered through the Misgav regional council.

Amenities / Services
Health services are available in Karmiel, Misgav and Kfar Vradim. Karmiel has a variety of shopping options. Tuval has a mini-market for basic supplies, a sports field, a children’s playground, a bi-lingual library and 3 big indoor spaces for events.


Community and Religious Life
On Tuval, the community organizes the celebration of Jewish festivals and other cultural events for adults, youth and children. The creativity of the cultural teams, the feeling of togetherness and the common traditions that have been developed over the years, make Tuval the special place that it is.

Tuval has a community expansion project, which is currently under development and includes single-family houses on 500 square meter plots. Any prospective member or resident must meet with the Yishuv application (Klita) committee as part of the application process.
