What started in the 1920's as an agricultural village has become today one of the leading business communities in the Middle East. Well known for having one of the largest diamond exchanges in the world, Ramat Gan is also known for its superior schools and well-maintained and lush neighborhood parks.

Located in the center of the country with all possible amenities in the vicinity, Ramat Gan is a community that is well maintained.

Local Employment
From an employment perspective, Ramat Gan is perfectly situated. It is at the center of the Israeli job market.

Education / Youth
There are close to a dozen elementary schools as well as three high schools in Ramat Gan that serve the diverse needs of the community. Most of the schools are secular, reflecting the majority of the population.

There is a dati-leumi-torani school in the neighborhood as well as Chorev elementary and middle schools.

The Bnei Akiva and Tzofim youth groups are very active.

Bar Ilan University, Shenkar College for Fashion and Textile Technology, Beit Zvi School for the Performing Arts and Ramat Gan College are four institutions for higher learning located in the city.

Transportation
Many residents own cars, though efficient and frequent bus and taxi service is available.

Olim Services
To date, the number of new Olim has been relatively low, and there has not been enough of a demand to justify Olim services. However, the municipality has an interest in welcoming Olim and promoting new programs for them.

Amenities / Services
Ramat Gan offers a full range of shopping and services, including gyms, malls, parks (Gan Leumi) with bike and running paths, and pools with both mixed (men and women) and separate hours.

Ganei Yehoshua, a beautiful and expansive park, is located in the neighborhood.

Ramat Gan pulsates with cultural life and art -- both professional and amateur. The Arts and Culture Department organizes approximately 150 cultural events monthly in theater, music, dance, lectures, films and adult education.
Ramat Gan has a number of prestigious museums exhibiting Russian, Jewish, Japanese, Chinese and Far Eastern art, to name a few.
Ramat Gan's 50,000 seat national stadium is considered one of the largest and most comfortable in the Middle East.

Sheba Hospital at Tel Hashomer as well as a full range of Kupat Cholim services are easily accessible.

Community and Religious Life
There are over 100 congregations in Ramat Gan, representing all ethnic groups.
The Nusach Ashkenaz synagogue, which unlike most of the other congregations, does have its own rabbi. He is a Yeshiva University graduate. This synagogue is welcoming to English-speakers and would be happy to help them integrate into the community.
