Moreshet

Moreshet is a Religious-Zionist community village in the central Galilee, a mere 20 minute drive from the Krayot and Karmiel. The Yishuv, overlooking a stunning view of the Haifa Bay, offers a warm and supportive community, established with an Orthodox, National-Religious population, and with a focus on maintaining a lifestyle rich in culture and religious education.

Moreshet just completed membership of its fourth building phase. With 64 new families, Moreshet is now over 250 families strong. There are no definite plans yet for the fifth phase, but we expect it to be completed within a few years.

Residents work in a wide range of professions, from engineering and the sciences to health professions and education. Most residents commute to nearby Haifa or Karmiel, while others work in the local school system or in home-based businesses.

There is an educational framework at Moreshet which provides for children through 6th grade. There are several daycare groups, nurseries and kindergartens and a National-Religious elementary school located on the yishuv with two classes in each grade (one boys, one girls). For high school, boys study at Yesivot Benei Akiva in Kiryat Shmuel, Sde Yaakov (Tikvat Yaakov) and Kiryat Ata. Girls study at Uplana Segula and Ulpanit Shacham in the Krayot and the Ulpana in Tiberias.

Most of Moreshet's children enjoy activities in the "Oz" children's movement or the Bnei Akiva youth movement. Moreshet also boasts sports and enrichment programs for residents of all ages, as well as a wide range of social activities during the summer vacation and during the festivals.

Transportation
Moreshet is situated just 20 minutes from Karmiel and the Krayot and just 40 minutes from Haifa. Cars are essential in Moreshet, however, a new set of bus routes is planned this year to Haifa, Karmiel and the Krayot. Also, a bus service is already in existence directly to Jerusalem.

Facilities include sports courts and playgrounds for children, a medical clinic, a local mini market and a new, beautiful synagogue and community center are currently under construction. Additional sports grounds and a medical clinic are currently under construction.

Community and Religious Life
Moreshet has a vibrant and active community life. Many activities throughout the year are run by various committees, including religious and general interest activities. Moreshet also hosts Bar Mitzvah and other events for the general non - religious communities of Misgav.

The community rabbi is Rabbi Yitzchak Cohen, a graduate of the Mercaz HaRav and Ateret Cohanim Yishivot. The children, youth and adults regularly study Jewish texts and the yishuv has an assistance framework in place. This includes a local charilty and benevolence fund.

There's a Mikve and three synagogues providing both Ashkenazi and Sephardic services.

Real Estate
The Olim Department of the Misgav Regional Council manages a website in Hebrew only) that provides updated information regarding new housing construction projects, second hand properties for sale, rentals and information about housing benefits. www.misgav.org.il

Housing costs vary depending upon the size of the house you build, as well as the amenities and materials used. Generally speaking, on a 500 meter plot, a house will cost about USD $120K plus $800 per meter for a house above 150 meters square. For example, for a 150 meter house, the cost will be about $240K. For a 200 meter house, about $280K and $320K for 250 meters square. These numbers are rough estimates, but realistic ones, that include everything one needs to build a livable, modern home.
