Modiin Elite is a Litvish-oriented kollel community that nurtures its members and provides a thoroughly insular Torah environment. The founders of Modiin Elite deliberately established their community outside of a city, in an area where residents  could enjoy a reasonable level of seclusion. Those residents who are from Anglo backgrounds mostly come from Lakewood, NJ; Borough Park, NY; and Gateshead, England. There are also many Olim from France and Switzerland.
Close to 80% of the population is under the age of 30.

Education / Youth
Residents place tremendous emphasis on educating their children. In fact, some community members identify raising their children as the primary mission of the yishuv. The preschools, cheders, yeshivot, and kollels in Modiin Elite are too numerous to list, but they are a dominant focus of community life. Parents are genuinely satisfied with the education their children receive.

Transportation
Most families in Modiin Elite do not own a car and rely on public transportation. Reliable daily bus transportation is available to Jerusalem and Bnei Brak six days a week; on Friday, buses shuttle residents to locations all over the country.

There is no ulpan available in the city.

Modiin Elite boasts extensive shopping opportunities: supermarkets, clothing stores for the entire family, housewares and jewelry, and hardware stores, amongst others.

Community and Religious Life
Residents of Modiin Elite describe their community as one in which people are consciously working on enhancing their spiritual growth. Torah classes are available in Hebrew, English, and Yiddish. The residents value the pure and idealistic life they live, and make many sacrifices to live in a kollel community. Residents live on modest incomes and generally dwell with their large families in small apartments. In recent years, a 'Bubby Club' has become quite active on the yishuv.
