Kfar Tavor

Kfar Tavor is a pastoral and picturesque Moshava situated at the foot of Mt. Tavor, between Afula and Tiberias. Kfar Tavor is one of the first Moshavot in Israel, and was established by members of the First Aliyah. In 1901, 28 farming families founded this Moshava with the assistance of Baron Rothschild, the well known philanthropist.

Today, Kfar Tavor is a modern, growing, upscale town; yet, wandering through the town, one can still see the original stone homes of the early pioneering settlers. The fruit orchards and fields in town attest to Kfar Tavor’s agricultural roots.

A Farmer's Courtyard colony museum has been built right beside two authentic farm houses, and offers a glimpse at farm life during the Moshava’s early years. (The museum includes the farm house with all its contents, an audio-visual presentation, multi-media programs for children and an art gallery.)

Kfar Tavor offers many possibilities for nature walks in the surrounding area, including a climb to Mt. Tavor’s summit, which has an amazing view at 588 meters above sea level.

The village also boasts the John Deere Land Tractor Museum, a Marzipan Museum with hands-on tours and Tavor Wines, with vineyard tours.

Kfar Tavor has local health clinics and is a 12 minute drive from Haemek Hospital in Afula.
