Hazorim

Moshav Hazorim was founded in 1939 as one of the original "Homah U'Migdal" ("Wall and Tower") settlements, before the founding of the State of Israel. Situated 30 meters below sea level in the Yavniel Valley (between Tiberias and Yavniel), Moshav Hazorim has a beautiful, uninterrupted view of the Galil, with low mountains in the backdrop and open rolling fields surrounding the Moshav.

There are also a number of families living on the Moshav who are working in agriculture.

Accessibility to Employment
The Moshav is only an eight-minute drive from Tiberias, and a five-minute drive to Poriya hospital. Hazorim is a 40-50 minute radius from Afula, Beit Shean, Nazerat, Karmiel, the Golan, Haifa and the Krayot, and more. Nearby industrial areas include: Tzipporit, Allon Tavor, Galil Tachton, Tiveriya, Afula and Nazerat.

Education / Youth
For preschool children, there are various day care options on Moshav Hazorim, including two kindergartens. Most school-aged children study at the nearby Yad Sasson Elementary Religious State school, located ten minutes away on Kibbutz Lavi. Other children study at Noam or at the Talmud Torah in Tiberias.

For high school boys, a growing Yeshiva high school named Orot Hazorim is located on the Moshav. The school has a unique program combining Torah with secular, environmental and ecological studies, and it attracts students from all over Israel. The Yeshiva aims to be an integral part of the community life on Moshav Hazorim. In addition to the local Orot Hazorim, boys on the Moshav can study at a variety of yeshivot, including Hispin, Meron and Tiberias.

Most of the high school girls study at the Ulpanit ORT Emunah in Tiberias. The school attracts girls from all over the North, and offers an extensive arts program including drama, dance, art and literature, in addition to the full range of other subjects.

The regional council is responsible for transportation of children from the Moshav to the various schools.

There is an active Bnei Akiva branch on the Moshav, a Talmud Torah which meets three times a week, and a variety of after school activities.

Transportation
There is limited bus service available directly from the Moshav. However, bus service leaving from Tiberias passes close by Hazorim (and reaches cities all over Israel). Cars leaving the Moshav generally make a point of stopping and taking along any Moshav residents who are waiting for a ride.

Olim Services
The Moshav opens its arms to new residents, Olim and Israeli, and provides them with "buddy families". The English speaking families are enthusiastic and embracing, and new families find themselves invited for Shabbat meals, holiday celebrations, and a generally warm welcome.

Amenities / Services
Hazorim is about an eight-minute drive from Tiberias, which as a regional city, houses many of the services needed. About a three-minute drive from Hazorim is a new commercial center, with a large discount supermarket and various other stores.
