Meet Jessica Lamdan, member of the Nefesh B’Nefesh Post-Aliyah department and Pre-Aliyah Employment Advisor extraordinaire. Hailing from Boca Raton, Florida, Jessica has been living in Israel for the last 8.5 years after completing her Aliyah following a post-high school gap year program.
Jessica attended Bar-Ilan University for her Bachelor’s degree and is now studying for her Master’s degree in Organizational Psychology. Jessica has worked hard to build up her career in Israel. Her work and educational experiences have given her a deeper sense of how the Israeli system works and the ability to help break down any potential barriers for others.
“I work with Olim planning and considering Aliyah on putting together a realistic employment plan for their move. The plan involves strategic networking, adapting your resume or CV to the Israeli job networks and learning to transfer your skills to the Israeli market.”
Getting started in the employment world of Aliyah can be overwhelming but Jessica is here to coach you through it. “My favorite part of my job is helping people reinvent themselves in Israel.”
Pro tip: “It’s never too early to start networking and engaging with those who already work in Israel. They can give you the best indicators of what the work environment will be like for you once you arrive. Sharing those experiences can really bridge the gap of knowledge you may feel you are missing ahead of your Aliyah.”
